Waikato Civil Defence Emergency Management Group helps councils in our region fulfil their responsibilities under the current CDEM Act. Our Group Plan prioritises what we will do to make sure our region has the capacity to respond to disasters.
On 22 September 2025 the Waikato CDEM Joint Committee adopted the Waikato CDEM Group Strategic Group Plan 2025-2030. This document is a forward-looking framework designed to strengthen our region’s resilience in the face of emergencies and disasters. It is supported by the annual Group Plan Actions, which outline specific steps for each year. The Strategic Group Plan will be reviewed in five years – 1 October 2030.
